“It took Jude Puryear (r.i.p.) SIX MONTHS to solve the puzzle of the chicken skeleton. I believe there are the same number of bones in a chicken as in a human, but they are much smaller. After they cooked and ate the chicken ( at Thanksgiving) one of his biggest challenges was to be sure not to lose any of the bones in the soup.
Near the end of the project Jude was racing the coming of spring to find the right places for the tiny bones at the tips of the wings. His dad, Joe Puryear, said in wonderment…”that kid has an absolutely oriental* sense of time.” – Bill Mutch
